Founder's Profile

Mr. J. Rajasegar needs no introduction to the windmill community. An electrical engineer who formerly served with TNEB (Tamil Nadu Electricity Board), he represented the organisation during India's initial wind turbine installations from Denmark in the mid-1980s — making him one of the earliest engineers in India to work with modern wind technology.

His expertise was further enhanced through specialised training abroad, which prepared him to establish RS Windtech Engineers (P) Ltd. in 1996 — a bold, first-of-its-kind private player in wind turbine service provision when the industry was still in its infancy.

The founder's vision has been carried forward by the next generation, driving steady progress and elevating the company's infrastructure and financial growth over the past decade. The company is led by a dedicated engineering team, helmed by Mr. T. Prabhakar Koilpillai.

Mid-1980s — Early Wind Energy Exposure

Mr. Rajasegar, as a TNEB official, oversees India's initial wind turbine installations from Denmark — one of the first Indian engineers to work with modern WTG technology.

Training Abroad — Technical Excellence

Undergoes specialised wind energy training overseas, developing deep technical expertise that becomes the foundation of RS Windtech's capabilities.

1996 — Founding of RS Windtech

Establishes RS Windtech Engineers (P) Ltd. — India's first private wind turbine service company — in Aralvoimozhi, Kanyakumari.

2000s — Expanding Services & Fleet

Grows workshop, electronics lab, and crane fleet. Expands OEM coverage to Vestas, GE, Gamesa, Suzlon, and Acciona Nordex.

2010s — GWO Training & Solar

Becomes Tamil Nadu's first GWO-recognised training institution. Expands into solar energy with a 300MW project in Tamil Nadu.

2021 — 25 Years of Excellence

Celebrates 25 years of operations with 3GW+ installed capacity, ~1,000 WTGs under management, and operations in 7 states.

Present — International Expansion & Repowering

Exploring international markets and wind park repowering projects, continuing the mission of serving the nation with more green power.
